Sara and Nando had a superb run in the trail over the weekend winning the WES Novice Horse Trail at the Garden of England Spring Show scoring a 69!
We are very proud of both of you.
ML Training client Carol Ball and her Quarter Horse mare Winnin In Vegas (Winni) are the current cover stars of Western Horse UK magazine as part of a feature on the discipline of Trec. Winni was bred by Bob and Chrissie Mayhew and trained by Michael at ML Training. Carol competes Winni in BHS Trec competitions, finishing 9th at the GB Championships at Level 2 and winning the South East Trec League at Level 1.
ML Training is delighted to have been featured in the latest Baileys Horse Feeds advert. Michael and his mare Smart Rebel Girl (ironically also known as Baileys!) appeared as part of a campaign to promote Topline Conditioning Cubes, AlfAlfa Plus Oil and the Baileys Outshine high oil supplement. Baileys is fed on Baileys as are many other horses in the barn.
Michael said of his achievement, ‘I know my mare can score well in all manoeuvres but she is a tricky one to get settled in her head. She is very sensitive to things going on outside of the show pen but she felt so good in the warm up that I thought I’d just go for it and trust her. She was with me every step of the way. I am so proud of her, especially in such company!’
The BR spring show was a great start to the year. Michael took home bred and trained A Winnin Tradition (Flint) who worked really well. Michael and Flint scored very consistently placing 1st, 2nd twice and 3rd in the four classes they competed in. ML Training client Lorna Rowland did a great job of showing her horse Tinsel Cat Nic and the pair looks set to steadily improve throughout the 2012 season.
It's always great to have you visit. I've been able to watch you grow as an outstanding trainer!Al Dunning, Arizona, World Champion trainer and author
